Default Langrex supplies

Hi all.

Langrex moved from Croydon over a year ago which is a pity for me because I used to just pop over and get almost any valve I wanted. Just found their website. Not aware that they had one before. Just check out their valve list!

Many years ago they were called RST valve mail order, if my memory serves me well.

Hello,

Yes, RST Valve Mail Order was the retail arm of Langrex Supplies Ltd, which was a main distributor for Mullard valves and CRts (amongst others) to industry and the trade. In those days, manufacturers were quite strict about wholesalers not selling to the public!

I think the people who used to run Langrex have retired, looks like "Langrex" may now be connected with Billington Valves .... ?

Regards,

Oop's...Sorry Mike. I forgot to include the link. It was getting late.....well that's my excuse anyway.

They were always a very convenient company for me as they originaly were in Streatham (SW London) where I used to live and briefly moved to Mitcham, then they went to Croydon and were a 10 minute walk from where I used to work....many lunchtimes I would wander in and pick up some valves.

Their warehouse was huge and I would drool at some of the valves they had. Reasonable prices as well.

We are still trading.

Langrex has moved to Billingshurst and is still the Largest Supplier of Valves in the UK. We are not linked to Billingtons.

We now have a website www.langrex.co.uk where common valves can be purchased online and our complete stock can viewed as a PDF file

Please contact us with any valve or semiconductor requirements.

Nice to know Langrex are still in business with a very large range. The complete stock list, with stock levels give a good idea of the desireability to order now, or if it can wait a few months.

I took Practical Television (I refused to call it by the later abreviation)and wonder how many of the suppliers of obsolete components, still exist, such as Sendz Components, and Manor Supplies. I'm sure orum members can add to the list

Hi, i used to purchase valves from RST in the 60,s. They got a large chunk of my pocket money!! I still have a couple of the wall chart price lists which they sent me. Nice to see you are still in business Cheers, Malc.
