Gambrell One Valver
I have acquired a one valve Gambrell 'receiver'.
Marked Gambrell Bros London and No 11461. It has a PM22A in at the moment and 2 coils external (tickler?) I can find no information on Gambrell one valve radios. Pic will be posted asap. Baz |

Re: Gambrell One Valver
Maybe:
https://www.radiomuseum.org/dsp_hers...ompany_id=5546 has something similar ? It maybe a case of reverse engineer it, should not be to bad with just one valve? |

Re: Gambrell One Valver
Thanks for the reply. The museum has nothing like mine. I could reverse engineer, that's not what I am looking for. I need ANY information, pics etc. I have never found any similar radio.

Re: Gambrell One Valver
The PM22 is unlikely to be correct since it's an output pentode, unless there's any original looking connection to its side terminal. A PM1HF would be a more likely candidate for a single detector with reaction set.

Re: Gambrell One Valver
OK thanks,
PM1HF seems to be a collector valve now and expensive. I think this radio will be at the end of the queue for a while and be an ornament. Baz |

Re: Gambrell One Valver
Pretty much any B4 based battery triode would work. Maybe just triode connect that PM22.
Or use an adaptor and try a triode connected 1T4 or similar 1.4V B7G bottle. Nothing to lose and a bit of fun.......
