Default Grundig TK20

I have a TK20 which has a constant fast tapping or rattling on record playback if the recording you make is played on another recorder it sounds ok. It's only there when I record and playback on my machine any help would be appreciated.

Is the noise actually recorded on the tape and coming through the speaker, or is it just acoustic?
