Default GEC Video Disc Player V5000H

Hi,

Does anyone have any information on these machines? Or have repaired them in the past?

One has been dumped on me for repair - a thank you for repairing the radio aerial in his classic car - I always avoided them when I was working.

I have replaced a melted drive belt and the disc is spinning again but the arm does not move across to read the disc.

Any suggestions or information gratefully accepted.

Best wishes, Geoffrey.

There is a chap on YouTube called Techmoan, he did a video about the ced player and it includes a part on servicing a player.
Worth a watch.

Also, check that the arm transport screw is unscrewed, I think it's red in colour.

Cheers
Richard.
