Default Tek power connector?

Looks like the forum’s taking a hammering as we all went to that hamfest and bought test gear on Sunday LOL.

Can anyone tell me anything about this Tektronix connector and if they are available before I swap it for an IEC.
It has two rectangular power pins and a round Earth pin. Not sure if it’s unique to Tek

Thanks

Regards Chris

Standard USA connector. NEMA 5. Do a search for cable sockets. For example https://www.joom.com/en/products/5b4...36d401c628aba5

The only thing to watch with the Type 184 is that it uses 6 Nuvistors (7587 - these even have a top cap) in the high frequency counting sections, and transistors in the lower frequencies.

If it has been used hard in the past the Nuvistors may need replacing. Don't expect these to be cheap.

Here's another - a NEMA-5 to IEC adaptor, 0.4m long https://cablematic.com/en/products/u.../?cr=GBP&ct=GB

£3.29 (plus shipping I would guess)

Concerning the nuvistors - this is surprisingly cheap at £8 each
eBay 310087990630

This is actually Langrex, which is my main go-to for buying valves. Non-audio ones are always good prices. Audio ones can be eye popping though!

You want to see a true horror story? This is clearly someone with a death wish, and couldn't be (a) bothered to find a Plessey mains connector (b) to replace it with an IEC or (c) put a plate with a strain relief and hard wire a mains cable internally.

And even if you were determined to do this sort of horrid thing, not to insulate the solder connections.

Ugh.

I suggest the OP has all the answers he needs regarding mains connector; he has an adaptor on order to suit the US one on the back of his Type 184. Hence multiple digressions.

So this is a terminal post on the end of the thread. Just so long as the right thing turns up, then Christian's needs have been met.
