Default Labgear SSB exciter

Hi all, I picked up tis unit recently. It appears to be an SSB exciter / IF unit from a 4 channel crystal transceiver. Was this an add on unit, if so what did it go with. The carrier insertion frequency appears to be 1400 KHz. The metering swith has Ig and Ik settings, suggesting a valve PA. Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks, Rob.
