Radiomuseum not responding
Did I miss a notice of Maintenance or something?
Since around 22:00 last night I have been unable to access the Radiomuseum. Is it just me or is vthere a problem. Cheers Mike T

Re: Radiomuseum not responding
Hi Sam
Yes your right its gone again. Must be some kind of server issue. I was able to log in and everything was as it should be. Then back to 504 Maybe Crackle knows what the problem is? Cheers Mike T

Re: Radiomuseum not responding
No doubt there is frantic activity, or perhaps they are all down the pub. I am sure it will be back at some stage, it's volunteer run has far as I know.

Re: Radiomuseum not responding
As far as I'm aware it suffered from some kind of hardware faillure.

Re: Radiomuseum not responding
Somewhere on the website it says the secretary Ernst Erb is active there 2 days a week. I've just submitted a new model, will see how long it takes to appear.

Re: Radiomuseum not responding
Funily enough I just loaded a new model as well it was the inability to do that which brought the issue to my attention.
I see you have loaded Mercury 1017, I have loaded Cossor Model 82. Ernst has a number of very able volunteers that aprove the models but I notice the list of models awaiting approval is a bit longer than usual. In the past I have found 3 days to 8 days is about the norm. Cheers Mike T

Re: Radiomuseum not responding
Yes, that's right: don't know how you know that, I can't even find the Mercury, let alone the Cossor 82, but it is a challenging site to find anything

Re: Radiomuseum not responding
Go to your Profile (logged in)
On the right is a tab "other links" The first option is pending model proposals. Radiomuseum has so many features it takes a while to find your way around. When you do you find out just how organised and open the process is. Also how intensive is the checking of data. I know Radiomuseum gets some criticism in some circles mostly from freeloaders but it's the best available and the volunteers work really hard. I am happy to be associated and agree with the aims of Radiomuseum. One day I hope to have enough time to be more pro-active myself Enjoy! Cheers Mike T

Re: Radiomuseum not responding
So my latest addition the Cossor 82 is now in the Radiomuseum 7 days after the request which when you consider the huge workload the team at Radiomuseum have I think is pretty good.
Whatever the issue was with the Radiomuseum being unnavailable it doesn't seem to have re-occured which is good news for us all. Cheers Mike T

I did send a financial contribution when I joined, but some time back I did receive a mild rebuke for my lack of participation and I think it placed a restriction on my activity, but in elven years, I haven't used the site to download much either. I've just logged in (maybe the first time for two or more years) and this has been my 11 year activity: Retrieved (downloaded): Pictures (x 3) 22 Schematics (x 15) 45 Forum 46 Manufacturer 10 Models 137 Tubes 35 There's no doubting that it's a phenomenal resource, run by hard-working dedicated volunteer enthusiasts. In terms of 'criticism' my only observation (not a 'criticism') is that it's so vast that I find it hard to navigate to the information I'm looking for, though I guess that's more of a compliment. Apart from that, there is only so much time to devote to forums, which aren't a hobby in their own right - though they seem to be so to some. They're a facet of a hobby, and as I'm also involved in woodturning, woodworking and model engineering, I'm a member of forums that cater for those interests too - maybe eight in all. That said, the only forum that I'm active in on a regular basis is this one, where I try to make a useful and positive contribution.

Re: Radiomuseum not responding
I was happy to pay to join RM, but disappointed to receive an email shortly afterwards rebuking me for viewing to may diagrams etc. (I didn't download them) and saying that my access had been restricted.
Fortunately I was able to redeem myself by uploading info about models they had no info on. I can see the difficulties presented to those only having models which are already listed.
