Default Fan for TV enthusiasts

Whilst looking for info for another fan thread I came across this picture and was quite surprised by the name of the manufacturer. Maybe you recognise it. If not take a guess. (I've obscured the maker's mark.)

A fair guess Neil, but there is a stronger connection between fans and television.

No, not Philco. A more specialised and obscure manufacturer.

Hmm... and now I'm thinking Cyldon / Sydney S. Bird. All purest guesswork as will be obvious...

Oops! I think perhaps I have misled you with my title. It should possibly read "Fan for Tape Recorder Enthusiasts"

Keep trying.

There are two manufacturers' names involved and for me they are both more associated with television than with tape recorders but strictly speaking I think in combination I should have titled the post for tape recorder enthusiasts.

Here's the unmodified photo..

Hi Martin,

The first letter is correct but you are looking for two names.

The two names that sprang to my mind when you mentioned tape recorders and the letter "S" were Studer Revox, but I hardly think so somehow, not in this context............
