Default Dokorder 7050 won't play.

I've got a Dokorder 7050 which I'm working on, but it won't play!
Fast winds are both strong, and the capstan is running fine, but for some reason everytime I put the pinch roller against the capstan, engaging guides it won't run. Something odd seems to be going on with the solenoids, anyone have a clue?

This is the massive auto reverse beast isn't it? Get a new belt kit and change both the belts. Clean the deck.

There's a diode in the power supply which operates the solenoids. Change it.

Also, the capstan tends to harden. If it has, it depends on how bad, If it's just gone a bit, try this...

There's a guy in the USA who does re-rubbering of capstans. I can't trace the address right now.

Cheers,

Steve P.

Well Steve, it's already been recapped. I replaced the belts first, and it's been really cleaned. I think I found the issue, the headcover must be installed to use and the tension arm is over sensitive.
