Default 2N2079A Ge Power Transistor (170W ?)

Following on from the thread about AZD11, I just dug a pair of 2N2079A out of my junk box. The specs are;

Type; Motorola 2N2079A Package: TO36
Material of Transistor: Ge Polarity: PNP
Maximum Collector Power Dissipation (Pc): 170 W
Maximum Collector-Base Voltage |Vcb|: 80 V
Maximum Collector-Emitter Voltage |Vce|: 65 V
Maximum Emitter-Base Voltage |Veb|: 40 V
Maximum Collector Current |Ic max|: 15 A
Max. Operating Junction Temperature (Tj): 110 °C
Transition Frequency (ft): 0.05 MHz
Forward Current Transfer Ratio (hFE), MIN: 35.

They are on a custom-made heat sink. I think they came out of a fairly old laboratory oven? Do these qualify as "hens teeth"?
