Viscount Dismantling
Hi
Can anyone give me tips on taking apart the base of this phone, I have removed the screw from underneath the handpeice and released a catch in the centre of the base but it is still sticking on the right hand side. What am i missing? |

Re: Viscount Dismantling
Hi, From memory I think that once the screw under the handset rest is removed the case should just unclip from the top, there are two locating lugs at the bottom which can be seen protruding through the casing - don't be tempted to try and prise these off. There may also be screws under a couple of the feet depending on the version of the phone.
Can I ask what your reasons are for wanting to open up your Viscount as there isn't a great deal internally that can be repaired, unless you wish to replace the line cord or something of that nature. Regards Andrew |

Re: Viscount Dismantling
Just opened mine out of curiosity...there's also a clip on the right hand side which clips onto a lug inside the case, it sounds like it might be this which is your problem.
I've attached a photo so you can see the location of it. Gentle levering of the top part of the case over towards the left may be the way forward. |

Re: Viscount Dismantling
Yes it was that clip thanks, i stripped mine down to give it a good clean looks like it had spent its life in a field.
Thank you for your help. Last edited by Brian R Pateman; 8th Apr 2010 at 6:00 pm. Reason: Quote removed. |
