Hello
I have a JVC modulator PM58054M part and would like to find out which pin if which for connecting it. I dont have the VCR and would like to use the modulator for connecting it to a French 625 line TV here are some photos It seems to have 2 integrated circuits. These circuits are probably well know but as the ICs are adjacent to other circuitry it is not possible to read the model number of the ICs I want to make sure i apply the voltage to the correct pin to avoid blowing up the ICs. It would also be good to know what voltage to apply. If i know the pin number for the voltage i can probably work out the other pins. Thanks Thierry

I have a lot of JVC manuals, it should be easy to find pin outs from that, I don't recognise that modulator but by looking at the manual it would make it a doddle.

Normally they work on 5v, but can't you extract video and audio from the appropriate sockets?

Thanks. I've just found some written characters hidden below the connector. AGVBGB !!

Here you go. That style of modulator with slight changes was used in a large number of JVC machines and their clones in the UK. I encountered them in the Ferguson 3V44 onwards up to early FVxx models.
Do you know where the modulator came from? If it's from a UK machine it's output will be PAL-I and will not be of much use with a French SECAM-L TV unless it's a multistandard set. Googleing that part number didn't bring up any results. PU58054M does bring up a couple of hits but I can't tell what system they're for. John Last edited by jayceebee; 23rd Jan 2021 at 9:23 pm.
