I have just added a list of the lots in the auction (correct as of today) to the BVWS website here http://www.bvws.org.uk/auctions/harp...2006/index.htm. Unfortunately there are no photos this time.

If you wish to bid on any items but cannot attend, please email Mike Barker on the email address in the front of the BVWS Bulletin no later than Saturday afternoon.

Oh yesss i se a few contenders for my colection hear, but can you pay for your lots by cheque or shall i go to the bank and order some money for friday? my bank has a limit on withdrawals of cash per day on my high interest acount!. thanks Danny

Half an hour before the buyers are allowed in, so probably 10am (though I'm not sure - maybe someone can confirm?).

Thanks Mick - it doesn't say that on my booking form, merely states viewing 9.30 am to auction start 10.30am and there was no info re setup with the sellers' infomation received hence the question

Hi Alvin, Actually there are two booking forms! One for auction entries and one for stall bookings. Only the stall booking form gives the 45 minutes before admission for stallholders and helpers information, so some confusion is understandable

Hello all,

Below are the times for the event, (text taken from the booking form).

Viewing from 9.30am, sale starts promptly at 10.30am.
Entry - £3.00 per person at the door. (Members and bona-fide guests only) Under 15’s admitted free. Stallholders and their helpers will be admitted 45 minutes before general admission to set-up.

Hope this will help.

Just a reminder again. You must be a paid up member on Saturday (4th March) to be able to bid in the auction.

To renew membership or join do it now over the phone by ringing 01793 886062 and pay by Credit / Debit card.

I'm confused (happens far too often these days).

Could someone please clarify when the sale starts (I believe 10.30) and when the auction starts.

Previous posts have referenced both (or they may be the same).

Hi Jeremy,

They are the same thing. The sale (main Auction) starts at 10:30, stops for lunch at about 12:30 ish, when the BVWS AGM runs for about 45 mins and then starts up again.

This gives everybody a good chance to move around the venue and participate in the Auction, the AGM, look at the stalls in the smaller hall and have some lunch depending on what you want to do.

One thing worth mentionning about these early start auctions is that one can't obtain a bidding card while the auction is in progress, so it's essential to get one in advance or turn up on time .... which I didn't. No problem, there wasn't anything I wanted in the morning auction and having got a card at lunchtime, I won an immaculate Ultra Coronation Twin (£90) and another excellent Pye P43 (£10) in the afternoon.

It was interesting - first one I have attended - many things that did not meet reserve seemed way OTT, but there were many bargains. I did not have any intention of bidding, as I have too many projects on the go altogether, and at an auction I have not been to before, I just lurk.

It was good to put a few more faces to names and had a chat to one or two (faces and names!). Also to do various removals for folks oop norf.

I spotted you, Howard, but you did not see me!

Hi i thought a lot of the prices were low some a bit dreamy but there were bargains to be had . i had a good time bought a couple of tvs i had been lafter for ages i picked up a couple of ebay wins that saved me some deasel oh and i got my friend a nice radar reciever for a song so thats two norfolk colectors happy . i didnt stay to the end sadly do to the miles and wanting to get my new toyes home! what did the pye b16 rebadged set make ? thanks for a good day Danny

I guess it'll need a new CRT though since it looked like a GEC one was fitted (though I met someone at Harpenden that claimed to have a couple of sets with _working_ GEC tubes - must be incredably rare !)

Alls I bought was the mint Ekco console that nobody else wanted for a tenner and some Quiche and Chips.

Noticed that was a bit of a bid war for the Philips, was the the Invicta console lot no 259 I think, the small one near the main entry doors, thought this was quite nice and not too large !
