Default Itt sl530.

I bought this portable main/battery cassette recorder/player a few years ago at a local village fete. It looks nice and tidy with a reasonably sized elliptical speaker in it. I expect it would give a nice account of itself with some new belts. The head and P roller look good. It uses 5 x C cell batteries, but the primary winding of the mains transformer has failed. I could probably fit a replacement from Maplins but my question is would a 9v-0-9v transformer do or should I try and source a 7.5v-0-7.5v transformer? Also does anyone have any experiance of these machines?
