SSB Products Sphinx transmitter
Can any members help ?
Having been prompted by a recent article in PW, I've started restoring a butchered/modified example of the Sphinx to "close to original". I'm now stuck because I don't have a cct diagram for either the psu or the inbuilt tx/standby/net switching. I do have the manual and the SWM/PW article, but these do not help i these areas. All/any assistance appreciated. Regards, Roger G4BZI |

Bit late seeing this Have you tried Richard Birkett http://www.rabeng.co.uk/radio/radiobits.htm No 477 The only thing is that it might be a reprint of the SWM article, I have a Sphinx working nicely, I did have 3 but sold 2 on.. The PW article by Ben Nock is just a reprint of the SWM one. 73 Andy G3UEQ |

Re: SSB Products Sphinx transmitter
Andy,
Thanks for the reply. I did contact Richard Birkett and obtained some info incl. the SWM article but no cct diagram. I wonder if your Sphinx is unmodified - if so could you confirm the value/rating of the large dropper resistor associated with the stabilised supply. I need to obtain one to replace this (it was removed by a previous owner). 73 Roger G4BZI |
