Default Eddystone user group.

Hello all
Does anybody know how the dial drive spindle which has the flywheel attached connects to the dial assembly on the Eddystone 670. There is a flat metal disk alongside the spindle but it is not actually touching it. Should there be a drive cord with this model. My guess is it should be some sort of friction drive as there is a spring on the end of the spindle with some sort of nut addjuster but as it is not touching the metal disk I am stumped.
