Default Valve testing in Scotland.

anyone in the southern half of scotland be able to help out with x4 small boxes of valves I've inherited, to see which are knackered and which aren't?

May be an idea to list the type numbers here as what look new and what look used. Get an idea as to which ones are even worth the time testing. Unless you already know which types are likely to be worth keeping or selling?

Hi M, quite a selection there, a good few of which are TV types (P numbers), as A first test you could go through them and sort out any that have o/c heaters.
It will take quite a time to test all of them even if a Mullard HSVT is used and most are quite low value.
A quick search on the web will reveal the valuable ones, but note that the very high values are often only obtained for very specific types of a given valve and usually if it has the data with it from the likes of an AVO tester where the test proceedure is much longer and more involved

You should bear in mind that few of the valves on your list are worth a great deal, so if you pay to have them tested you may end up spending more than the good ones are worth.
