I seem to be missing something here.

The TEA5767 is a Philips surface mount IC.

I can find a variety of small populated PCBs on sale that could be described as TEA5767 modules.

Have you used one of these commercial ones, and if so which one? Or is this a special/custom design ?
The FM converter comes as pictured in my initial message.

It's a custom design originally created by Eduard Hontelé and Daniel Maignan. under a GPL licence.

There is a description and schematic here. David's version appears not have the switching to restore normal AM operation, however I suspect that was quite difficult to implement on a given radio.

What is the approximate current draw of the module?

My module is indeed based on Hontele's initial concept.
What most people ignore is that I was first to suggest a module containing its own regulated power supply.
My module uses my own code, completely rewritten with some bugs removed and a much better tuning which removes undesirable audible "plops" in most cases.
The module draws 25mA or just under.

Hi
I've just placed an order for one to use in a Ferguson AC DC set with an irreparable FM tuner module. I'll be adding a small mains TX for its supply. My friend who owns the radio is over the moon it will work again and look just as it should, he doesn't use AM thankfully.

I've just ordered one. Now to design a shelf filter to append to the output, to make it compatible with the North American 75us time constant.

That's great ! Can you add a link there for those who want to follow ?
All modules ordered yesterday and until noon today will ship today.
Note that the tracking takes time to become effective, and all modules are housed in an antistatic bag before packing and shipping.

Cheers
