Default Pifco Timeside lamp clock

Hello

I picked this Pifco timeside clock up at auction yesterday and its in great condition, after checking the wiring and making sure its all earthed up which is was, including the clock movement. I decided to put a plug on it and away she went.

I have a few questions I was hoping someone could help answer, anyone any idea of date? im assuming mid 50's also I think the shade is original mainly because it fits so well on the fitting, but i could be wrong of course. it was pretty dirty and looked like it been on the fitting a very long time. I am also assuming this was made as a office desk alarm clock lamp as opposed to a bedside one.. if the shade is original of course judging by the style. Just wanted to share and hear your thoughts.

Eddy

Is that literally a desk lamp with a clockwork alarm clock fixed to the base or does it have an electric clock?

The absence of winding keys suggests it's electric, as you would hope!

Ahh. I wasn't sure there was nothing hiding behind the lamp post!

It has a sort of functional elegance to it, I suppose......

If you Google images of your lamp you'll see there's several different shades fitted. I imagine your lamp was supplied without a shade, like the Goblin Teasmade D26 etc.
