'Aviation' connectors
I recently had need of a screw-locking line socket similar to the type used on CB microphones. A little research revealed that these are commonly known as aviation connectors.
Are these rather crude connectors really used on aviation equipment? If not, where does the name come from? |

Re: 'Aviation' connectors
Not in the aviation industry, they aren't.
You may have come across people using it as a general term for anything with a threaded retaining ring. Most civilian pilot's headsets connect through plain old jack plugs, though. David
