Default 2SC930E alternative transistor

Does anyone know the alternative transistor for the 2sc930e , it's for a ekco nautilus I think it's 2sc2839-e but thought I better make sure as cannot find a great deal of info on the web.

2SC2839 appears to be the later Japanese equivalent. Any general purpose Si RF transistor should work - in fact a jellybean transistor like a 2N3904 or BC548 will probably be OK. You just need to check the leadout.

'E' is the highest gain variant, but this is unlikely to be critical.

Transistors like these rarely fail. Are you sure the original is bad?

I'm not sure Paul my dads checking it over and came down to the conclusion it is this at fault. Radio works fine all except fm which doesn't pick up anything at all.
