Bush TV22 - Mk1 to Mk2 transition
It's commonly assumed that the Bush TV22 Mk1 (with chassis/serial number 83/xxxxx) is the one where the RF/IF deck (A8) is populated with EF91s, whereas the Mk2 (chassis 124/xxxxx; RF/IF A22) uses EF80s.
In a previous thread (now closed) devoted to finding/tracking the TV22s owned by forum members, there is mention of an Mk2 that uses the early A8 RF deck with EF91s. I recently purchased my second TV22 (I'm beginning to understand all the jokes and self-comments on how one tv is never enough, how they appear to breed in the dark, etc.) which is waiting to be picked up next month. It is clearly an Mk2, but has the A8 RF deck and hence no additional tagboard with the power resistors (see photo below). As far as I know, the two types of RF decks are not directly interchangeable, although I didn't yet check this myself. This could mean that Bush made mixed models (new chassis + "old" RF deck) while going from Mk1 to Mk2. Can anyone confirm if this is so? Cheers Helder |
