I was wondering what I could use to aid the winding. I have a pasta machine, but I don't think the axle is exposed... We have various power tools, but I think the speed on those will be hard to regulate.

I may have to make something.

That is a very good idea - I never had Meccano. I had stacks of Lego as a child, which I suspect has all been given away.

Hi Martin, I think, sometime in the past 5 years Elektor or one of the other magazines (perhaps even MEW) published a Lego coilwinder design.

Annoyingly I had a hand drill time not long ago. It got binned in a mad clear out.
