Default Fidelity HF43 record player.

I have a random piece detached when I bought my player. I worked out where the elastic spring goes, just the other part I can't seem to put into place.

Any suggestions?

Looks like a transit screw clip.

As Lawrence says it's a transit screw clip. You will have to replace the screw as the clip in the picture shows it has snapped off the top of the screw.
You may try asking for a spare on here, you may get offered a screw only, which is fine, if you get offered the screw and clip then keep hold of the clip you found as they are sometimes missing.
Also there should be two of them (screw and clip) and the fact that you are asking what and where it goes leads me to believe the other one is missing too.
Gaz.
