Default How to replace a 'C' clip?

Hi, I have had to remove the c clip from my Dynatron record player, however I cannot replace the c clip, anyone got any ideas/tips on how to replace it? Thanks.

Careful pressure on the closed side from the flat of a srewdriver will do it.
Just make sure the clip doesn't fly off into a corner!

Personally never had trouble getting them back on

Getting them off thats another matter, resulting in pings and unexpected bounces

Cheers

I've done it, I just used two tiny novelty screw drivers you find in a Christmas cracker. It's on now, and I found getting it off was much easier!

I think what you have there is what I call a circlip. There are hand tools made to tackle those: circlip pliers. They come in two types: internal and external. They make a tricky job a lot easier!

Circlip on these is bent wire so the inside variety of circlip pliers should work. I can't say for certain though because I just used to struggle with a screwdriver when I had mine. Unfortunately the platter had to come off on a regular basis. I'm not a huge fan of the G101 if I'm honest...

Paul

The circlip pliers I have can be set (little lever near the pivot) to be either for internal or external circlips. Saves having to buy (and carry) 2 tools.

They were made by Facom in France, so should be top quality, I certainly have never had problems with them.
