You're welcome, there was never any doubt that they were good devices because they have been in their tubes in the building where I work since at least the mid nineties - they were a part which was used in a PCB we made and at some point that PCB stopped being made before we ran out of those ICs. If you looked at them carefully you would have noticed that the pins were still splayed, i.e, they had never been inserted in sockets.
A few years ago I (thankfully) happened to be around when someone took it into their head to dispose of some 'no-longer-needed' IC stocks including a couple of tubes of those CAT28C16s One thing I did worry about was whether your programmer would support that particular manufacturer's version of the IC, so I'm glad that worked out OK. |

Yes the new prommer specifically lists the Cat version. I did a load of AA55/55AA tests first, no problems, well happy ta!
