Pye Black Box with BSR deck - disconnected spring
Hello, I was given a Pye Black Box a few years ago that I've used fairly often. During a failed attempt to change the stylus (which fell into the case) and subsequent lifting of the BSR deck, I must have knocked a spring free of one connection. The turntable plays fine until reaching the end of the record when the tonearm lifts and moves back to the start of the record. I see on the underside of the deck that a spring is free - but there isn't an obvious place to set the free end.
Would this spring be cause of my problem, and if so where should the spring be set? Any advice appreciated! |

I'll have to post a photo later, but if you turn the deck upside down, you'll see the main plate that slides on the top of the sub chassis has a protrusion that goes below the sub chassis. The spring hooks onto that.
