Default Re: Nuvistor experiments-Where should I start?

It's worth noting that the 8056 Nuvistor was designed to work with a "HT" supply of 12 to 24V.

So it would have been a good choice for high-performance early-60s FM car-radio front-ends in 'vibratorless' hybrids - the kind with ECH83 / EF97 / EF98 for the MW signal-strip and a big TO3-cased transistor [OC28/OC35] as the Class-A aidio output.

I don't recall any major US two-way-radio manufacturers [Bendix/King, Motorola, GE] using Nuvistors in the front-ends of their radios.
