Default BVWS Wootton Bassett - July 11th

Hi All,

Just to start this one off, I thought I would let everyone know that all the pre-booked entry tickets and Stall bookings have been sent out today.

For anyone wishing to take a stall, there are only two left and we are full so let me know asap.

There will also be a large auction on the day, of which I am just starting to do the pictures and lotting up, so once finished I will ask Paul to put up the catalogue and pictures on the BVWS website, probably next weekend/early next week.

Just for info:

Venue:

The Memorial Hall
Station Road
Wootton Bassett
Wilts.
SN4 7EE

nearest Motorway is M4 Junction 16.

Times:

Stallholder entry is at 10:00 am

General entry is at 10:30 am
(unless it is a wet day, then I do not keep everyone out in the rain)

Auction start should be around 12:30 to 1pm

Plenty of home cooked cakes and hot meals available throughout the day.

I hope to see all of you there,

Mike...

Hi Mike,

I know I’ve missed the boat for member’s tickets, but I didn’t know I could get along until the latter part of last week.

Do I need to contact your self via phone to get a ticket, or can I get ticket on the door on the day?

Just out of interest did you sell the Grey Leak Stero 20 you had on the stall at the Tonbridge Audiojumble?

Thanks in advance.

Terry Bateman.

Hello Terry,

You cans still send in for a pre-booked ticket if you are quick and use a first class stamp on your SAE.

Alternatively you can just turn up on the day and pay at the door.

The Leak Stereo 20 did sell, but there is going to be another at Bassett, come and see me on the day and I'll point you in the right direction.

The Hall is now completely full, but I may still be able to squeeze a table into the annex by the Bring and Buy.

I am currently lotting up the Auction items, and its going to be a long day!

Is this members only and how is the parking? Would I be able to bring a small camping trailer? Thanks

If the December bash (the only one I get to) is anything to go by, the parking tends to get pretty full. Manoevring in and out with a trailer may also prove challenging.

Boom,

It is a members only event, as far as the Insurance Company are concerned anyway, but I never turn away anyone interested. You can enter as a guest. You may even want to join when you see what you have access to...
Come along, but I think the trailer could be a problem unless you park up very early (before 8:30am) and put it on the grassed area detached from your car.
The car park gets very busy and very tight on space as there are usually between 120 and 160 people there on the day.

Hi All,

I have just uploaded 139 auction lot pictures for Paul to put on the BVWS website when he can.

The auction currently has 200 lots (not all photgraphed), but I expect to add at least 50 more by Wednesday of this coming week.
I will have a full catalogue and the extra pictures sent to Paul for the BVWS website on Wednesday evening.

Is it possible to give a rough time for the auction start?

Sorry to say it, but I won't be there. Look in member news for why. Everybody have a good time. Why is it that every time I can't make it there is something I would want in the Auction...?

Cheers,

Steve P.

Hi All,

I have just uploaded the last set of Auction pictures to the BVWS FTP server and a full printable Catalogue.

It will be available from the BVWS website as soon as Paul has done his magic.

Hope to see you all Sunday,

Mike...

Hi Mike,

Just to let you know the ticket arrived in the post today - thanks.

Looking forward to Sunday, it’s a few years since I was able to get to WB.

Are the Columbia cylinders interchangeable with Edison? Anyone know?

I emailed Mike Barber but he obviously hasn't read it yet as I've had no reply so maybe someone else can answer as it's getting a bit late in the day. I looked at the BVWS membership today and was going to join but saw that membership runs from 1st january to Dec 31st. I don't therefore want to join until 1st Jan' or I will only get 5 months membership for a years subscription.

Would I still be able to use all of the facilities tomorrow as a guest? I.e bid on the auction lots etc?

Thanks - Dave

My understanding is that only members are allowed to bid in the auction.
