Default Mullard E7600/3 (Adapter 10A info needed).

Hello.

I wanted to use my tester to test a few PL504's today but I can't test them without a 10A adapter. It was supposed to be listed in the E7600 MK4 manual but I can't seem to find it.

Who can help me find a clear drawing of one?

Thanks.

Note that some adaptors have a male top cap attached. This is usually for boost diodes where the TC is cathode.

OK. I tried all combinations for only the filament and I did not get any result. I don't know what way to count the pin numbers on the B9D socket.
So filament is connected to either 3-6 or 6-7?

I need more help please.

On a PL504 the heater pins are 4 & 5 looking at the base and counting clockwise, Pin 1 is the first one after the gap.
You could try measuring the resistance to check the filament/heater pins 4&5 which will be around 13 to 14 Ohms when cold and help you identify them.
This might help you understand the valve.

I know that, but I was talking about the little circuit placed in this thread

The circuit shows adaptors ie a male plug, which plugs into the tester, and a female socket which the valve being tested plugs into.

The wiring between plug and socket isn't necessarily straight and a wire to a top cap is included.

I know, that is why I translated the pin 4-5 to the 3-6 or 6-7

If you set up the tester to test say a PL504 (heater on pins 4 and 5), which sockets of the IO valve holder on the tester have the heater voltage (27V) on them? Socket pins number anti-clockwise when looking into the socket.

I just tested all the pins
there is 30V between pin 2 and 7 on the tube tester

The diagram is a bit confusing, but as far as I can see:-

Pin 2 of the IO plug is wired to socket 4 of the B9D socket.
Pin 7 of the IO plug is wired to socket 5 of the B9D socket.

Pins number clockwise when looking at the bottom of a valve or viewing a valve holder from under the chassis.
Pins number anti-clockwise when looking into a valve holder from the top of the chassis, or looking at the solder side of a plug.

I hope I got that right. It's easier to visualise it than it is to write it down.

I cant find any way to connect how you say it is
unless I used the 8 pin tester socket as the 9 pin tube socket

could you please draw it out for me

You need to make an adaptor consisting of an International Octal Plug and a B9D socket interconnected as per Ed's drawing.

The International Octal plug plugs into the tester and the valve under test plugs into the B9D socket.

yes I know
and I have both
but I cant make the connections because the drawing just are bad

I have restored the whole tester with minimal help
and I am mad at myself for not being able to make a simple adapter
I mean I have had to make a few other adapters and they all work
but this one I can't get it to work

How is your adaptor wired?

I can't wire it because I don't understand the drawing.

Attached is the output from my Mullard Tester simulator - it is available in the forum somewhere.

It shows what function each of the pins is being tested as, the corresponding pin number on each of the valve sockets, and the expected voltages. In this case two connections are made for each of the control grid, screen grid and cathode which is not normally the case!

Check the holes in your card match the image in the attachment.

That looks pretty straight forward and confirms what I said in post #13.

It isn't difficult to work out the other connections.

For example the screen grids, pins 5 and 6 of the IO, go to pins 6 and 7 on the B9D as per Ed's drawing.
