Default Clarkes Atlas AC16 eliminator

Just after some information on this eliminator. It works OK except for the variable 0 - 100 volt output ( it has a carbon pile pot - needs a strip and clean!). It is in an unusual olive drab colourway as if it has military connections. Any more information on this one would be welcome.
Thanks,
Neil

Nicely made as things were in those days. Nice to see 'Radiospares' on a component from the days when that was all they sold.

An unusual colour as you say, the same as or similar to that used on the chassis and 'speaker of perhaps Clarkes Atlas' best known radio model, the A758 http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/clarke_...las_a_758.html . I just have the console model of that set, and a Clarkes Atlas battery eliminator (very different model from yours, somewhat later) and battery charger hiding somewhere. I'm not aware of any military connection, maybe someone can enlighten us there or perhaps it was just thought that the colour suggested high production standards and that couldn't be a bad thing
