The output of the 3509 is 140mV according to a pdf posted by Ben in post #15 of this thread.

Whilst I have quickly searched this for you, I can't find the specification just now.
Given that the Sonotone 2059 is a stereo ceramic, it's unlikely to give an output of more than 250mV. There is also a Garrard badged equivalent.

The 2509 output is 340mV 50Hz - 8kHz . The 3509 is 140mV 100Hz - 10kHz.
Recommended 5-7 grams.

Useful info and I am corrected. At 340mV, that is high for a Ceramic.
What does the OP need this info for, is it to replace an existing failed cartridge?

The Sonotone 2xxx series are crystal cartridges, the 3xxx are ceramic.

Cripes, I just did not know that. I had always thought that everything that followed the 8TA and 9TA series would be Ceramic. That would explain the high output from the 2059.

Just asking - yes I am replacing a duff cartridge but I found a good X5H in my bits and it's working a treat driving a single valve Dansette

Yes, it will - it has a massive c. 950mV output. This is far higher than the Sonotones you reference and may overload/not match a more sensitive amplifier.
