Default Meter classification

Does anyone know what "Class 2.5" means in respect of analogue panel meters currently on sale on ebay? Is it +/-2.5% accuracy?

A quick Google agrees with you, anything second hand though has two classes, 1-working and 0-not working.

I beg to differ

The commonest second hand class is that well known third logic state "maybe".

1mA meters with FSD of 1.2mA gives the general idea.

I once went to an auction with a work colleague when a local Marconi site closed. He was minded to bid for an impressive-looking meter until I observed that the letters "BER" on a label tied to it almost certainly meant "Beyond Economic Repair".
