Default Capacitor value?

Hi Guys
Can you tell me how to read the value of capacitor attached? These I believe were used in a lot of Philips tv radio sets in the 80's
Many thanks

https://www.elprocus.com/capacitor-color-code/

Eg: The 1st one in your photo:

100,000pF (0.1uF)

+- 20%

100VDC max. working voltage.

Lawrence.

Mullard C280 range - commonly known as 'tropical fish'.

You'll find the colour code chart here, which explains how to determine the capacitance, the tolerance and the working voltage:

They're not normally troublesome unless the leads break off at the ends if under mechanical stress.

Hope that helps.

The holes in the PCB seem to be too far apart.

That may put a mechanical stress on the capacitor and any future replacements.

There appears to be a crack on the right hand side of the first tropical fish capacitor in the photo.

There's a huge chunk missing from the right hand one!

Thanks guys for all your great comments and tips and links. Learned alot about these caps. Yes several have cracked and bits come away. I will replace them now I know how to value them.
