Macintosh 512k bad Rom - can someone help?
I recently acquired a joblot of early macs. A 128k 512 and plus!
I’m currently focusing my attention on the 512k logic board. Unfortunately it doesn’t boot and research which I’ve made shows the problem to be corrupt or faulty ROM chips. Would anyone here be able to re flash my ROMs for me? I don’t have the facilities to do this at home unfortunately.

Exactly what happens when the 512K is switched on?
I had a Plus and a 128K upgraded to 512K for a while. The 512K had LB issues. I remember newly flashed ROM chips being sold on eBay years ago. You may be able to swop the ROMs around as a means of testing them. Last edited by OldTechFan96; 8th Jan 2022 at 11:51 am. |

Hi there,
I can help flash new ROMs if you need them. Are you getting any power on errors? The error codes below still hold good for the early Mac models as well. https://support.apple.com/kb/TA46376?locale=en_GB |

I have a Mac 512k in the loft. If the ROM is in a socket, I may too be able to help if you don't get any joy anywhere else.
