Default G3WPO mk2 fet dip oscillator

Hello All, does anyone know if the PCB is still available for the above project ??
I would like to take the opportunity to wish everyone A Happy Christmas and hopefully a more heathy New Year in 2022.

Sorry I cannot help you find a PCB, but just out of curiosity, given that the design is quite old now, has nothing appeared more recently that is an alternative of interest? Dual-gate mosfets were so vulnerable, though admittedly, perhaps safe(-ish) in a GDO. Perhaps the (hopeful) availability of a ready-made board is the attraction?

Best you could hope for is that somebody has an unused one in their junkbox.

The company that used to supply these (Ambit) is long gone.

Tony Bailey often receives enquiries about his projects, but has been out of amateur radio for more than thirty years.

It’s worth reading his statement, on his website, which he penned back in 2008:

That's the MK1 version John, MK2 used dual gate FET's in the oscillator section.

Paperwork below for the MK2.

Has anyone got the PCB layout for this on a pdf? I might have a go at doing a PCB in KiCAD.

Hi
I have an unbuilt kit, not sure if it is MK1 or MK2, I can scan the PCB if that would help.

I'll sort it in the next couple of days, I'll have to get the wife to do it because the printer drivers don't like my computer.
Edit....
I've just unearthed the kit, had a look at the PCB and according to the info above it is a MK1 kit/PCB, are you still interested?
Neil

Probably best to use the Mark 2 version. Thanks for the offer.

Does anyone have any details about the Toko Polyvaricon variable capacitor used in the Mark 2 design. I only need the physical dimensions (ideally a data sheet or an actual part) but as much info as possible would be ideal (capacitance value of each capacitor, pin and hole spacing, overall dimensions etc). This is so I can make a PCB footprint for the PCB. Might require a few other details of other parts as I go along. Thanks.

Here is a screenshot of stage 1 of the schematic so far. There will probably be a stage 2 and 3 posted later and then I will maintain radio silence to get the final checks done on the schematic (make and assign any footprints to the symbols, do a final check of the netlist againt the original schematic etc). Then I'll post a few screenshots of the PCB similarly. More later.
