Fidelity Argyll Major.
Hi I am checking out this Fidelity Argyll Major tape recorder and have cured various faults but volume seems a bit low. I am checking the cathode voltage on the output valve and this is around 12 volts. The service sheet states 7 volts on playback.
The resistor marked red in the thubmnail is around 10 % high. Would this cause problems here ? Mike. |

Re: Fidelity Argyll Major.
More than likely to be the grid coupling capacitor C10 on the trader sheet leaking.
The cathode resistor is probably 10% tolerance to start with. Cheers Mike T

Re: Fidelity Argyll Major.
Hi,
Thanks for above input. Will try that later when time permits. The mike I got with the machine is a Walter, die cast model. Are these a ribbon mike ? If so, can they be repaired or serviced without damage ? Mike. |
