Just acquired this wee wooden cased gem. In much need of TLC.
Does anyone have a Circuit Diagram &/or Manual please ?

Hi David
I have a Taylor meter with instructions for the 83A & C models glued inside the lid (see pics) if that's any use.
Cheers, Dave

Thanks Dave, Thankfully it came minus rotting batteries in that underside compartment(unlike the AVO 7 that accompanied it - yuck). So 9V + 1.5V, that's no problem.

Taylor - AVO - Metal Industries -Thorn EMI Has anyone ever discovered an actual archive for Taylor Electrical Instruments Ltd equipment's manuals/circuit diagrams ?
Internet reveals "Rochester Avionics Archives" but they have nowt. Internet also reveals a string of takeovers, starting with AVO in 1958, but its hellish complicated.
Circuit diagrams for AVO multimeters are two a penny. But I just cant find SFA on the early 40's 81A or even its younger sibling - the 83A.
This 81A shows promise with the voltage & current ranges, and the 200uA meter is fine, but sadly some twonk has delved into the resistance measurement circuitry with his soldering iron & fannied about with shunts & multipliers. A mixture of illegible BTS resistors/Body-Tip-Band resistors & more modern banded resistors. A nightmare !

As a collector of Taylors, i have found it frustrating finding anything useful over the years. The genuine info does turn up from time to time on ebay, like the workshop manual for the 94b tv waveform and alignment generator which uses 23 valves and is somewhat complicated.
My biggest want is the oscilloscope manuals for the 30 range.
