Re: Radio Workshops....
Crikey, popular this!
Ok, im going to add a poll (i hope!) giving some dates. The poll will also include some other questions - could I ask you all to respond accordingly At present I have not made any swapmeet plans - this however does not preclude trading between members on the day (I encourage it!) Cheers Sean

Re: Radio Workshops (Now with a poll).
Sean,
Could I just clarify the poll questions regarding the proposed dates. With the dates quite close together presumably you are planning one event and we are indicating our availability, so that you can decide when to hold it? Also I assume that the second date should be Sunday 13 Feb? Best regards, Richard |

What happens if all 3 dates are equally popular Sean?

Sunday 13 Feb would clash with the Tonbridge Audiojumble....

Re: Radio Workshops (Now with a poll).
I intend to bring my tempramental TF2002B and synchronising unit, and a Roband power supply to look at while the sig-gen is on soak.
I hope the tables will be strong enough, will there be mains supply for each person? What other projects can we expect to see? Rob.

I like the "poll" I wish I knew about it when I organized the two Scottish meets!

Re: Radio Workshops (Now with a poll).
Ah, yes, Audiojumble..... OOOps.....
As for all weekends being equally popular.... this would be a slight issue, but I am hoping this will not be the case. There are still a number of people, that expressed an interest left to vote as yet - lets see what happens

Re: Radio Workshops (Now with a poll).
Seeing as the buffet lunch is already streaking ahead would anyone with dietary issues PM me letting me know the sort of things to avoid - I really do not want to poison anyone!

Re: Radio Workshops (Now with a poll).
Don't think I'll be able to make it to one in February as I'd like more experience behind the wheel but should this prove a success I'd love to go to one later in the year.

Re: Radio Workshops (Now with a poll).
Hi Rob,
Many thanks for the offer. I still might have to miss this one due to finances (somehow got to pay for the car insurance) but may take you up on future offers Thanks and kind regards, Josh. |

Re: Radio Workshops (Now with a poll).
Overall the consensus seems to be heading for the 27th, therefore that will be the date.
We will have access to the hall at around 11am. I see that a buffet lunch is popular, so will sort something out along those lines. Sean

Re: Radio Workshops (Now with a poll).
I've voted, and it was 27th and one other, and buffet. I'll put it in my diary.
I have a kit set that is like a Premier (in a Little Maestro case) but is a different brand, which needs the output stage rebuilding with a different valve and no doubt some new caps. I've also got a Hacker Mayflower 2 that probably just needs new caps. Both have been on the to-do pile for ages so would make good candidates for the day. |

Re: Radio Workshops (Now with a poll).
Righto Paul - Great stuff!
I think we have enough attendees for the first event now - if there is sufficient interest I will see about running them on a more frequent basis. I will over the next few days put together a kit list of desirable things for attendees to bring with them - probably a few basic hand tools, soldering iron, and a few spare components if they have them (I will bring a wide selection along to help those that dont) At present there are no attendees that have mention any specific dietary requirements - this is important - I really dont want to be poisoning attendees, or having people go without. Looks like mainly radio equipment at this event, so that is nice and easy - there are one or two TVs - could I ask someone to bring a standards converter with them, as 400hz bars are quite boring! There won't be a swapmeet as such this time - there isnt enough time to publicise the event correctly, if any of you that are coming along want to bring a few bits to flog that will be fine - again, if any of you want a swapmeet, let me know, as this is something that can be done for the future. Watch this space - I will update everyone with the details they will need to get to the venue, and other info as needed. Thanks all Sean
