Default Garrard turntable

Can any one tell me what model of Garrard turn table this is please, as I need the rubber roller for the platter. Or does any one know what other model roller might be the same, thanks.

This is a Garrard "Autoslim" (detachable headshell version) from c.1960/62. Note not Gerrard. What you are calling the rubber roller is actually called an Idler wheel. These can be easily searched. See also the Stickies above for restoring this autochanger. Many Garrard record deck versions of this chassis use the same idler wheel e.g. AT5, AT6, SP25, 3000.

Could it be an AT6?
There is a very good sticky on Garrard Decks, well worth a visit.
Cheers

No, as Edward has said, it's an Autoslim. The AT6 has a completely different arm.

I don’t think it was the idler wheel that has the problem I think is the main cam the arm and platter very slowly go down on platter especially at 33 when on lp it then runs ok but also slow to return I borrowed an idler and it made no difference I then borrowed a cam and it now works ok any one know where I can get a cam from please

You need to remove the cam gear, the large metal cog under the turntable, remove all traces of old grease, before reassembling with fresh grease.

If you feel confident, strip the rest of the deck down, clean and relubricate when you reassemble.

If the problem re-occurs you will need a new or refurbished idler.

If, by the cam, you mean the large diameter toothed wheel under the turntable, the problem is most likely due to dried grease. A clean and re-lube should cure this. Pay particular attention to the Trip Pawl i.e. the two small levers near the outside edge of the Cam gear. These must be totally free of grease, and should, for want of a better word, rattle, when the gear is shaken. (Crossed with Michael Maurice)

I think this is an AT5, as fitted to Murphy A851G. The headshell is deeper than the AT6/
SP25Mk1, as it has to be held in place by the clip above the speed control.

No, the Garrard AT5's tone arm is different. Just do an online search for photos of it and you'll soon see.

Thank you for putting me right, as I am no expert on Garrard decks, but can I ask you to,look at Sticky on Garrard Decks and the pic in #19, posted by GP49000, the pics look just like Dorians, with same arm and detachable cartridge.
Cheers
John

I stand corrected, I took a much closer look and I can see the arm is different.

Although we have not seen the platter in the photo, it would appear this is a Bush or
Murphy RP and the actual variant with a larger platter is known as AT5P.

Whichever deck it is, the pulley is the same.
