The Milton Keynes Museum
Went there today http://www.miltonkeynesmuseum.org.uk/ well worth a visit, the telephone bit was super, lots of hands on stuff, you get to play with proper antiques (as has all the museum). Take it with a visit to Bletchley and a whole day of fun. One of the best provincial museums I have been to. Great tea shop too, I needed a bit of a warm up after 50 miles on the motorcycle!

Re: The Milton Keynes Museum
I agree that the MK museum is a must for anyone interested in old telephones, with any extensive hands-on display with everything from a speaking tube (albeit reproduction) through a whole gamut of genuine telephones and switchboards etc - and as MM says, Bletchley Park is not far away, though I'm not sure one can do justice to both museums in a single visit.
