If it's got a vibrator it sounds like a car radio. Does it have a model number? Any chance of a picture?

Hi there,

Could be military as well. Some had a secondary 12/24v power supply as well for in the field using a vibrator.

Need a picture really (inside and out) or a model number.

Cheers,
Alan.

Could be the HMV/Smiths/Radiomobile model 100 introduced in 1946 :-

I think that used those strange valves .

Does the radio have a back panel with a model number?

there are some references to vibrator options on some old trader sheets, but they weren't generally for the UK - they tended to be for the "colonial" market, the other option is a set that is designed to work with a petrol powered DC lighting set.

I don't have my service data to hand at the moment, I would suggest a trawl of models from around 1935 will probably give a suitable candidate.
