Default Wootton Bassett 5/12/10

Anyone going from north or west London to WB? Prepared to give a lift (or receive one!) with fuel cost shared. I'm not 100% certain that I can go yet but it's looking likely.

What time is kick off at WB? It doesn't say on the BVWS site and what is a 'swap meet'? I haven't got anything to swap!

not sure if I'm piggy-backing this thread, but the title is appropriate! (Mods - please split into a separate thread if it's a problem)
Who's going and what are you carrying?
I'm bringing some TV / Tape recorder service sheets for Steve_P
and some stuff for the B&B stall
that's all so far!
oh - and it's my birthday on the 5th Dec - I'll be 25 (again) - so be nice!

I'm bringing a large-ish tape recorder for setsappeal that I collected from someone at Mikey's, and a portable Ferguson tape recorder for Steve_P which I offered on here a while ago. I think that's all so far...

As mentioned in the Golborne thread, I shall be bringing a box of valves for Cre8anet and a mystery metal box for Chriswood.

I should also by then have picked up a reel-to-reel from GrimJosef for Trev757.

Hi All,

Well the time has come to let you know that I have uploaded all of the Auction pictures for Sunday and a catalogue that you can download and print to the BVWS ftp server ready for Paul to do his usual magic and make them available on the BVWS website.

There are 257 Auction lots (excluding those that are entered on the day) which is more than enough to keep me busy.

The meeting is open to stall holders from 10:00 am and for general entry at 10:30 am unless we have wet weather when I will let people in out of the rain early.

There will be plenty of hot drinks and hot food available from the kitchen.

All stall places have been filled (28 stalls) and I have two other people waiting in reserve so it should be a very busy day.

Venue:

Memorial Hall
Station Rd
Wootton Bassett
SN4 7EE

Hope to see you all there,

Mike...

I should be there unless the weather gets nasty. Might look into sharing a lift. How about everyone wearing a badge, label or something with their forum name on it.

Is the postcode correct? SN47EE brings up an error on AA Routefinder. My satnav accepts Station Road Wootton Bassett. The Royal Mail postcode finder gives possibly SN4 7EG. Upmystreet gives SN47DS

I'd go for SN4 7DS. It's not quite in the right place on the map but it's close enough that you'll go past it.

SN4 8AA and SN4 7DS are about 200 yards apart and probably within sight of each other and the hall itself.

Hi All,

Well SN4 7EE is on all of the Memorial Hall paperwork.

Basically get to station Rd and at the cross roads of tanners close and Glebe Rd, turn into tanners close and enter the car park through the gate.
The hall is visible from the road and you can't really miss it.

Don't know why 7EE is un-recognised now, it always used to work.
Perhaps the post office has fiddled around with areas etc

Google maps still recognises SN4 7EE but places it further down Station Road. Bing (was multimap) doesn't recognise it.

Royal Mail do sometimes play with postcodes. For example Watford had a major shuffle a few years ago.

Returning briefly to the postcode question, streetmap.co.uk displays the correct area when given SN4 7EE, but doesn't display its usual arrow

The weather is looking warmer for the weekend. Not exactly tropical but hopefully enough for transport to have got back to normal. Though it's going to take a while for those heavy falls in the NE to clear.

Don't pack your car too full with sets. Leave room for wellies and a shovel just in case.

Thank you for that encouragement. I have been feeling decidedly jittery about my plans to head south for the weekend.

Hi All,

Yes there will be the usual Bring & Buy stall in the side room, which will also be full of stalls this time due to the amount booked up.

I have checked the weather forcast for the weekend around these parts and everything looks clear for Saturday and Sunday. We may even get a little sunshine, but it will still be very cold.
