Re: A Scottish Meet
Well guys, I've a wedding to go to on the 10th Oct. And the Tattie Holidays(half term) are the following two weeks, I believe. So any Sunday in Oct except the 11th would be fine with me.
With my wife Anne & I driving, we might be down & back up in a oner. Or, if one of our sons can manage to look after the dogs & hens & ferret, we could make an overnight stop and tootle back up on the Monday. It looks like the possibility of 8 of us getting together, so far. Excellent. David |

Hi Trevor, I would like to come also, it looks like you may need an extension to your garage. Cheers Norman.

Hi All
I remember trying to have a meeting up here some time ago but it never really got off the ground. This looks much more promising. Please count me in. Regards, Ken. |

Re: A Scottish Meet
Hi.
Any weekend in October will be fine. Can we now agree on a date in that month so anyone requiring an overnight stay can be booked in well in advance. Cheers Trevor

Re: A Scottish Meet
Hello.
Now to explain fully: I have quite a large shed with all of my "bits & pieces", the house though is quite small but I have the use of a Gazebo which will be attached to the shed, so long as it not howling a gale all should be fine. Anne (the missus) will provide Tea, Coffee, soup and sandwiches. If there is enough interest there will be a trip out to Bob Baird's Museum in Sorn Ayrshire, he has a large collection of Vintage radio & TV sets, I will have a VW transporter 7 seater to help with transport. So now its time to fix that date in October that suits the majority, I am free every weekend of October. Cheers Trevor

Re: A Scottish Meet
Guys, How about Sunday the 4th,18th or 25th October ? Obviously whichever Trevor deems the most convenient. Once again, I must really thank him for his kind offer to put up with us. And we dont want to swamp him with too big a number of folk.
Should this small acorn be about to grow much larger, we could always have a follow-up Scottish meet later in the year or next year at a bigger venue. David ps. Although North Aberdeenshire is a bit out of they way, should anyone be travelling in the north during the holidays, you'd be most welcome to drop by. |

Re: A Scottish Meet
Hi.
Ok I have marked the 18th October on the calendar. Now it can be quite windy here but assuming reasonable weather all should be fine. Any one staying over for the meet let me know and I will pass on B&B, Travelodge details etc. Good luck Trevor PS can I now start to receive actual mumbers, Wifes etc are OK to come but, Kilmarnock is not the best shopping town now with the recession etc.

Re: A Scottish Meet
Great news, Looks like everything is a go for the 18th Oct. My wife Anne will be going down with me to Kilmarnock. Just for the run & to commiserate with with other wives whose houses are a depository for electronic/wireless equipment. David

Re: A Scottish Meet
Hi Paul.
We will meet at my house. I am not to sure of the rules about posting an address (help needed here by the mods please) on the forum but the address and directions of course can be PM'd. There will also be a Trip out to Sorn Ayrshire to see Bob Bairds collection & museum, there is also transport for 7 people but its nor far for anyone to follow on if we get a good turn out. Cheers Trevor

Re: A Scottish Meet
Personal contact details (address, phone, email etc) shouldn't be posted in the public forums (it's not a good idea to put that online where anyone can read it anyway) so please sort out that detail via PM.
I'm really pleased you have all been able to organise this. I'm looking forward to hearing how it goes and seeing the photos. I will add it to the forum calendar too, with a link to this thread. |

Re: A Scottish Meet
I hope to join you, but will need to be away by 4:00pm, as I have a meeting in the evening. If anyone from West Cumbria or A74 corridor would like a lift, please contact me by PM.
I would appreciate details of location by PM at an appropriate time. May be best to wait until there is a list of people coming and do a bulk PM?
