Leak Stereo 2000 Tuner Amp No sound from FM
Hi Folks,
I recently acquired a Leak Stereo 200 Tuner amp. It had been in a loft for many years so needed a clean up. I went through it with deoxit and it is working and sounding good. I haven't tested everything, however there is no sound when selecting FM. AM is fine. I can see the signal strength gauge is responding as I tune, and there is a difference with and without an antenna clearly visible. Just no sound. I didn't see anything obvious while in there spraying the selector switches. Any ideas? Selector switch? Unfortunately I don't have any test equipment. Any help gratefully received. Just for completeness, I also have the Leak 2060 speakers and the 2001 record deck. Speakers are working, but have not yet looked at recommissioning the record deck. |

I can't imagine any user control which would mute the sound on FM but not on AM, so it sounds like a fault. You could do with a service sheet and a scope or basic audio signal tracer.

You may have set the mute level control incorrectly. Try adjusting the mute level control fully anticlockwise. In that position, the FM reception isn't muted on weak signals.
