Mullard Valve Tester 7600/3
I am refurbishing a Mullard automatic valve tester model 7600/3. This is the version withe 2 EF91's and 2 EY51's.
I had to remove and refit the T1 mains tx and I am left with tag 3, in the group next to the 4 large welwyn resistors, with no connection. I do not have any spare wires floating around so I think that tag 3 is possibly linked to another tag and the link became detached during the removal and refitting of the tx. the tx is behind the left hand panel of the tester. If anyone can help me with this one please reply Regards. John. Last edited by AC/HL; 30th Jun 2018 at 7:15 pm. Reason: Forum rules |

Re: Mullard Valve Tester 7600/3
Hi John, I believe there are several threads on this tester in the test equipment section, possibly with schematics, but not necessarily wiring layouts.

Re: Mullard Valve Tester 7600/3
The circuit diagram is not much help and as I remember the wiring is pretty packed around the transformer. If you have removed it, how confident are you that all the other connections have been replaced correctly.
Can you post a picture and mark up the position of tag 3. |

Re: Mullard Valve Tester 7600/3
Thank Ed.
Thanks for the replys guys. The thumbnail from George solved my problem. As I was moving the tx about the solid core wires were breaking off the tags. I labelled all the wires as I was unsoldering them. I got tags 3 & 4 wrong as they dropped off before I could label them. Tip. If you have to remove the tx, label the wires before dismounting it. Or take a close up pic. After 60 years you would think I would learn!!!! John. |
