Radio Caroline off the internet via an FM pantry transmitter and a selection of Wireless sets with added FM front ends where necessary and a selection of 60’s to present day classic rock, psychedelia, and blues biased towards the late 60’s to mid 70’s. Really enjoying pre Dark Side, post Syd Barrett Pink Floyd at the moment having seen Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets at Birmingham and Cardiff recently. HiFi is a Leak Stereo 20 with a modified power supply and an early pair of Quad ESL’s.

Listening to The Velvet Underground banana album on a homebuilt triode PP Class AB2 valve amp and Mission 720 floor standing speakers, neighbors are out, so cranking it up. Previous to that it was Potato land by Spirit.

This afternoon it was the TT on the Yacht Boy, and this evening it will be the TT on the Globetrotter.

Today it's been a nmix of a pantry-transmitter streaming 90s-vocal-trance to my Roberts R707 in the summer-house, and streaming a bit of Tex-Mex stuff to the car-radio [via a Bluetooth-equipped phone] while I've been driving up and down M4.

Pragmatically, I love the seemingly infinitely-extensible choice which streaming-services give us.

Equally, stuff stored on USB-sticks is fun; It's great to pull up at the traffic-lights alongside some kid listening to 'rap', wind down the windows of my car and give them my full 690-Watts-of-factory-fit-Meridian-audio-system playing Burt Bacharach, James Last, Mantovani, or Shirley Bassey's "Goldfinger" James-Bond title-track...

TT?
I used to love listening to Radio Luxembourg when you could get it on medium wave. But these days it´s mostly Bayern 1 in the car, or 60° North (Shetland) as web radio, or Klassik Radio, which is the Radio4 of classical music.

In recent months I have got into big time Nightwish, Epica (Finnish and Dutch Symphonic Metal bands) and Ayreon (Dutch musical project).

All three are seriously good if you like rock music.

Elevator music, heard about the story of the piece of music: "Coultergeist" where Phil Coulter was in an elevator with one of his songs as elevator music, one of the persons groaned and must have said something about the
sanguinolentus coultergeist again.Coulter took it as a hint and wrote:

What I do like is youtubes of Wolfman Jack. But they tend to run later in the evening just before sleepy time.

Thanks to having literally no QRM, I'm hearing Radio Caroline on 648 AM coming in very well. Never received there station here before. I'm listening on Star DX-Mates SR-150, with spare piece of about 6 feet of speaker wire clipped on to it's telescopic antenna. Enjoying the good variety of music they are playing.

Radio 2 or GHR both on FM on my car radio or 20 year old Philips Gheto blaster.
I also like Absolute on 1215 but that is almost impossible now that its off air from the Washford transmitter.

During the evenings its Radio 4 on 198 Long Wave via a number of my repaired portable radios including my ITT Tiny Super, ITT Colt, Bush TR130, Binatone Mustang and Hacker Hunter RP38A.

Now and then, late at night, or early in the morning, depending on your view, and sleep is not coming I fire my Murphy up and twiddle the knobs. Scan the shortwave band until I find something to latch onto. I use the finetune to hone in and just wait for a hint as to where this station is located. Some nights reception is clear as a bell and sometimes it fades and comes back. The only illumination is the dim but warm glow from the dial, a tiny island of light in the darkness.
It´s like this old wireless transports me to another time and another place...

Or am I just rambling on in my dotage?

Right now, news on BBC R4 LW, on holiday cruise ship via Vidor CN420a.

Reception is non-existent inside the cabin, but just outside it's good!

Must admit, I have a bit of a weakness for the genre that's described dismissively as "elevator-music/Muzak®, Easy Listening, Cafe-Jazz or 'Lounge-music'." A couple of decades back there was a brief resurgence of interest in Lounge-music, as a spinoff from the more-intense Trance/psytrance and Chillout scenes.

See this, from "Euphoria" == https://youtu.be/3RhxGewa6C8

currently streaming via a pantry-transmitter to my Roberts R707.

For me the most intriguing thing is trying to track down the movies from where they've taken the audio samples!

That doesnt do anything for me, waaaay to trancy for my taste. Did enjoy the visuals though.
I do (Ahem) listen to stoner music like Re-Stoned
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4in0wKB1jRU
But for my standard lay-on-my-back-and-stare-at-the-ceiling music, I like listening to Heilung
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRg_8NNPTD8
That and some Wagner and I´m ready to take on the Fenris Wolf.
