Lupin Farm Vintage TV and Car Display.
This annual event seems to get bigger by the year with hundreds of classic cars of all ages and conditions attending. As usual Phil and Andy of this parish paraded a display of compact consumer electronics to wow the crowds. It's great to see the reactions of the general public both young and old when exposed to a 405-line image on a vintage set. Nostalgia for the older generation and something entirely new for kids to get their heads around.
The day is staged for charity and there's plenty to keep the family occupied all day with stalls, home made cakes etc, so I can thoroughly recommend it if you are in the Lichfield/Staffs area. Steve J Here are some pictures of the electronics... |

Re: Lupin Farm Vintage TV and Car Display.
Hi,
That brings back fond memories of the steam traction rallies I used to display my stuff at. I really enjoyed talking to the visiting public and occasionally they would donate an item. One chap offered me a nice HMV 857 radio with the words: "If you don't want it lad, I'll take it t'tip on Monday!" Well, what's one to do? It would have been rude to refuse it. Even though we were downsizing ready to move here! Not forgetting, of course, the beer tent! Oh happy days! Cheers, Pete

Several cars there that I owned the first time round. I like the early Vauxhall Victor, I'm surprised there are any left the were falling apart when they made them.
