Re: TV meetup in Solihull and collection of bits-and-bobs.
Hi Mike, Might I be allowed to turn up too, please?
I've two or three '50s sets (for restoration) which I'd like to give away to anyone who will take them (if anyone does, of course!) and some other bits to dispose of (free) too. I'm more interested in later sets now and could do with clearing a little space. Cheers! Neil. |

Re: TV meetup in Solihull and collection of bits-and-bobs.
Yes, of course Neil. Feel free to come along.
And the more junk people bring to swap the better. (Just as long as it all goes at the end, of course.) Thanks Neil. Kind regards. From Mike.

Re: TV meetup in Solihull and collection of bits-and-bobs.
Thanks for the invitiation, Mike - I look forward to meeting you on the 6th November!
Hi Neil! Well, I'm running low on space for sets, but I stick to Philips (and derivatives) from the dual standard B&W to the end of the 70's. I don't suppose you'd have a nice G8 lying about that you'd like to get rid of? By the way the sets I intend bringing are a '50s Cossor table set, a '50s Ferguson Console and a 50s Murphy (the type with the bakelite panel on the top which lifts up with controls beneath). Apologies for lack of model numbers - they are all in storage currently! I can also lay my hands on a period 405 line pattern generator and a few other bits and bobs. Cheers, Neil |

It sounds quite a gathering. I would love to come but would have to check with the good wife first to see if that day is clear.

Hi Dave and Simon.
That sounds excellent - it will be great to see you both if you can make it. Kind regards. From Mike. PS. Dave - How are you going to take lots of junk home with you on the back of a bike?

My apologies for completely ignoring your post. Yes, you are most welcome to come and home made bread and pate sounds excellent (although there are a lot of mouths to feed). Kind regards. From Mike.

Re: TV meetup in Solihull and collection of bits-and-bobs.
I'll bring a few odds 'n' sods - Grundig video manuals and various bits of hardware.
It'll save loading up Dave's B&B table at Golborne! Mostly FOC or barter. I'll have my usual name badge so I can remember who I am, and Joyce, my lovely wife will be coming as well, but she'll probably go for a walk if the techie stuff gets too intense, unless there are other ladies present. PS: Have a look at this.

Re: TV meetup in Solihull and collection of bits-and-bobs.
Hi Neil! Thanks for that - I really must be disciplined though and try to come home with an emptier car than when I set out in the morning - although I've said that so many times before. . .
Cheers, Neil. |

Re: TV meetup in Solihull and collection of bits-and-bobs.
I'm after an RBM A823 colour decoder & I.F. board as the one I have is faulty, any one have one that is coming up tomorrow? It must be the early type board as the later one is not compatible with this chassis I have.
Cheers Lee

Re: TV meetup in Solihull and collection of bits-and-bobs.
I have a 20-inch A823 AV Murphy set waiting for you here but unfortunately the panels are the later ones. Are you requiring panels for your green set? I thought the decoder was okay in that...

Re: TV meetup in Solihull and collection of bits-and-bobs.
I have (to give away) a "Telephone Trainer" setup. It comprises a mains-powered control unit with lots of buttons, lights and an amplified speaker system with a microphone headset, 10-ish standard (but small) telephones, 8-ish small cassette recorders and lots of wires. You are supposed to be able to plug all the phones into the sockets and then ring each one by dialing the single number 0-9 (I think). I couldn't seem to make it work but I did get a standard-ish BT-type ring tone in the ear of the dialling phone.
Anyway, it's free to the first person to claim it at the meetup. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there. Kind regards. From Mike.
