Hello John,

Yes checking on the details of the B&O 3200 it is a 625 line only set, but with a triple band tuner.

It is a fantastic and complicated TV which will give an exceptional picture.

I kept one going in the 1990's for many years after much hair pulling and a lot of swearing plus several run-ins with the EHT generating circuits and special EHT transformer.

With multiple speakers they also sound very nice too.

All those lovely valves on that massive and heavy chassis. It really is a beast!

Mike...

Yes, a really outstanding set in terms of performance. The EHT circuit provide a potentially lethal but very stable voltage giving rock steady pictures during flashing images. This set was also a very efficient room heater.

The horizontal output/EHT stage of the Beovision 3200 with 2 output pentodes and 2 booster diodes is fascinating to me, and a good way of avoiding that shunt stabiliser triode/Xray source.

I was given one about 30 years ago by a school friend (!). It appears to have focus supply problems, but I never got round to doing anything more with it. It is currently behind me... One day I must have a go with that beautiful piece of electronics.

Is it too late if one became a member of the BVWS today to attend the auction?

Go to the BVWS website, go to contact and call the membership secretary. Martyn is a helpful bloke and I think if he gets you on the system you should be fine.

Yes, just a reminder that you can indeed join as a new member or renew your due membership on the day, before the auction starts.

Martyn (membership sec) will have a table just in front of the stage. Then you will be able to bid for all that lovely stuff in the auction!

See you there!

Good evening,
Could I bring one item to sell at the auction if I was to bring it first thing on Sunday morning or has the auction entry already closed.

Many thanks,
Christopher Capener

You'll need to contact Mike about that Christopher, however I think it is at capacity at 400 lots. It may be better to save yours for Harpenden.

If you book items in advance you will get numbers somewhere in the body of the auction and the item(s) will be in the catalogue on the website, whereas stuff added on the day goes at the end and tends to do less well.

Hi all does any one know the details of buyers commission and am I right in assuming its a cash only sale. There is no info I can find on the WS other than the opening and start times which are different to the times stated by Mike in an earlier post. Hope no one goes by the BVWS page as they will have missed it !

There is no buyers premium, only a 10% sellers commission which goes to support the BVWS.

Good afternoon,
You have to pay after the auction finishes.
The auction is very well run and efficient and winning bids are processed on a spreadsheet as the auction proceeds so when paying at the end of the auction, a lots bought list is automatically created with the final amount to pay already worked out. You also get a receipt showing all of the lots you bought so collection is easy.
I think you can pay by cash cheque debit card and possibly credit card though I don't know if you have to pay a surcharge if you use a credit card.

As it's a "special auction" the times are different to normal Royal Wootton Bassett events, and are as Mike stated here and as stated on the website homepage announcement here http://bvws.org.uk/

As others have said there is no buyers premium or any other charges for buyers. You pay the hammer price at the end of the auction then take your lots away with you. Cheques and cards are fine, though of course cash is quicker.

Sellers pay commission of between 12% and 20% depending on whether they are BVWS members (including deceased members) and whether the BVWS needs to store the items or they are being delivered straight to the hall. Details are here http://www.bvws.org.uk/auctions/.

Note that you cannot pay until the end of the auction, so assume you won't be leaving until at least 4pm if you buy something. Very occasionally exceptions are made but that must be by prior arrangement with Mike. This is to avoid disrupting and slowing the auction for everyone else.

Excellent, really looking forward to tomorrow and seeing many of you there.
Paul, are the lots laid out on tables like they were a few years agoor are they all up on the stage?

Cheers

Lee,

Everything will be on tables down in the main part of the hall.
Chairs will be set out down the middle.
